WHO WE ARE

Encuentro Por los Animales

Encuentro Animalista en Ciudad de México, Encuentro por los Animales

OUR VISION

To contribute to put Latin American activism on the global map, make our achievements known and share our challenges and solutions with the world.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to unite and provide useful tools to animal rights advocates throughout Latin America in a collaborative effort to promote compassion, justice and dignity for all sentient beings.

Through education, campaigns that create legislative pressure and community solidarity, we strive to raise awareness about the ethical treatment of animals and inspire tangible change within our societies.

Together, we envision a future in which all animals are respected, protected and free from exploitation, and in which our actions reflect our commitment to building a more compassionate world for everyone and everything.

To meet these challenges:

We commit

To train both seasoned activists and the next generation of passionate young advocates who will inherit our experiences and whom we aim to prepare for the tough challenges they will face in the near future. We believe in the power of youth to drive innovative ideas and energize the fight against animal exploitation.

Our goal

We aim to connect with activists of all ages, sharing experiences, strategies and ongoing projects that inspire action. We aim to foster a sense of unity by understanding our common purpose and learning from the history of the animal rights movement in Latin America.

Above all

We want to create opportunities for young people, those who are starting out as advocates or “change agents” and anyone eager to dedicate their time, energy and creativity to the fight for animals. Together, we can build a more just and compassionate future.

VALUES

We believe that change has to come from all fronts, which is why we promote campaigns focused on plant-based food

As animal rights activists, we are aware that not everyone will be motivated to create change from an ethical point of view, which is why we must be prepared to position plant-based food systems as an immediate option to combat the climate, ocean and biodiversity crisis and protect a large number of ecosystems that are home to a wide variety of animals.

Adopting a plant-based diet is the single greatest action a person can take for the planet, and can significantly reduce food-related greenhouse gas emissions.

We believe

In forging systemic change where other animals can be respected as the individual beings they are.

Our approach

Is anti-speciesist and intersectional; therefore, we oppose any kind of violence and discrimination regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, place of origin, social class, etc.
